Comments regarding Garden Crossings LLC

I have been ordering from this company for three years and have been 100% satisfied. The plants are full size and have plenty of roots. The plants are in great shape and ready to plant in my garden with no fuss. Aside from looking great when I get them, they overwintered and are almost double the size in one year.

I will order from them again in a heartbeat.

Spring Fever hit hard and early for me this year. I was ordering annuals as early as February. I also kept ordering and the company combined all my orders together with a running tally of my impending bill, which was nice.
When my order came, it arrived in two different boxes on two different days, even though they had been sent together. The first box had both annuals and perennials and was perfect. The next day my second box of plants looked very much the worse for wear. The plants were disheveled and torn up, and a lot of them were DOA. So I sent en email describing the vast difference in the plants I received and got an immediate response. All of the plants that were trashed were replaced within a week, and the replacements were healthy, even though I worried about Fed Ex getting them to me. I wonder if Fed Ex isn't to blame since all the orders were packaged the same. If so, I hope the company got reimbursed as well. I will continue to order from Garden Crossings because they care about their customers and the plants are quality plants.

Huge, lush plants, not a twig or leaf broken....By far the nicest plants I've ever received by mail, and as nice as the best I'd pick out for myself at a good nursery!

I ordered a bicolor butterfly bush and it did not winter so well. This could have been my fault as last year I was a beginner and didn't know a whole lot yet. I emailed them to let them know it did not make it through the winter, not even 24 hours later I received a response saying they will ship me a replacement. No questions asked. So I am very pleased, thank you Garden Crossings!

Ordered a couple of dozen plants from this company. This was a first time order. The plants arrived in good shape. The packing was excellent and the plants were very nice and well rooted, unlike some of the big name catalog sellers. Will definitely purchase from again.

I am very happy with the plants I ordered. The shipping was good and the plants were in very good condition. I think there prices are a bit high but will order again when it is a hard to find item.

I ordered little henry itea, limelight hydrangea, quickfire hydrangea--all 5.5" pots. Order arrived on a weekend as I requested (only mail order company to do so). Plants were alot bigger than I expected. Iteas growing in mostly shade have grown faster than iteas I bought from local nursery & in a much bigger pot--what is the difference? But hydrangeas have been slower to take off.
The company is as advertised. I wish they would post shipping rates for regions upfront instead of placing it in shopping cart to find out (I like to shop for S/H charges).
I also wish they had more coupons/discounts available online.
Prices are reasonable, but not super cheap. You can usually get better deals at local nurseries. But if you have specific plants in mind, this is a reliable mail order company.

I just received my first order from Garden Crossings and am very pleased. The packing was great and the plants very large and healthy. The prices are a bargain for what you get. I ordered Dark Towers Penstemon from them, forgetting that I had already ordered it from another company. Garden Crossings price was $3 less and the plants where easily 3x's larger.
They combined 3 orders for me to save on shipping, (which would have been reasonable even if they had not) and e-mailed me when they shipped it. They also asked at the time I placed the orders if I wanted supplies I ordered shipped right away or with the plants. Great customer service!!!
I will most certainly be a repeat customer.

Communication and service was excellent -- I received an email letting me know approximately when I would receive my order. I was quite pleased with the plant I received; it was quite large and very healthly. Also, the packaging was the best I've seen. I wouldn't hesitate ordering from them again!

I received my order and was quite pleased. The plants were healthy and well established with, for the most part, really extensive root systems. The hardy hibiscus were obviously from several year old stock, and I believe I'll get blooms this year, and the asclepias were almost too tall for the large box. The prices were not particularly inexpensive, but the plants were of a size to warrant it. I liked the way they packed everything with bamboo stakes to prevent stems from being bent, too. I would order from this company again, especially if they have a sale!

Bad packaging!!!
I bought two salvias, and they arrived in the worst shape that plants can arrived in. Obviously, the plant's been tossing around in the box, bruised leaves, roots just dangling from the plant, dry soil all over the box.
I called them and they first told me something along the lines of - go ahead and plant them into the ground, water them really good, and chances are they'll come out fine. I was not happy with that answer at all. So they did send a replacement immediately.
Guess what, the replacement arrived in the same condition! Dry soil all over the place.
They have been in business for just a couple of years, and obviously, packaging is still something they have to work on making better.
I'm not going buy from them again.

My first order and the service was outstanding. Very well packaged,very quick delivery and my Mexican Feather Grass was in great shape. Will not hesitate to use in future as prices were less (even including delivery)than the big box nurseries and got my plants when I wanted them as opposed to when they are available.

Another great purchase....Though a couple plants are on backorder, the other 3 came packaged good and healthy...I will keep buying from them, no problem :)

bought 3 ageratum and 3 agastache... what a nice experience to receive plants that look so healthy and full of growth. planted them and they look wonderful. the ageratum is setting blooms in just 5 days and the agastache is sprouting new leaves. I also bought a hydranga on the same order but have not yet received it. we've planted several hydranga and not had much luck with them yet. but I'm going to try again. will definately by from this company again.

I just had to write a comment even though I haven't received my plants yet. I have been adding to my original order for the last month. I have also asked for a substitution because I realized I had purchased a certain clematis last year. Their customer service rep couldn't have been more helpful and accomodating. Today I asked a question and had a reply within a couple hours. Their customer service is one of the best! I started ordering from this company in the last 2 years and have never been disappointed with the product or service.

I've ordered from them three times previously, and am waiting on delivery of a fourth. Vigorous plants of excellent size, well and promptly shipped. Doesn't get any better. Actually, it does -- great sales and/or reduced shipping charges from time to time as well.

I can't say enough good things about this company. Compared to the mail order places that I have dealt with before, the quality of the nursery stock is outstanding. It is the only company that provides a product that is the equal of anything I could by locally, plus its variety in its specialties is second to none.

I have ordered several times from Garden Crossings and haven't gotten a bad plant yet. The plants are good sized and well packed. However, I do wish they wouldn't use FedEx. The only problems I've had are with the shipper.

I ordered 2 Clematis, 1 muhli grass and 1Sambucus Nigra. My plants were shipped sooner as I could expect them. Packaging was excellent. The plants were large, beautiful, and vigorous. -Maybe one of the two clematis could have been stronger but it is still good and healthy. This was my first order with this company and I am very happy that I tried them.

I received my first ever order from Garden Crossings and was VERY surprised at how large the plants were and what great shape they were in...I will definetly be ordering from them again...Absolutely got my money's worth and more...Packaging for my 4 plants was superb...Thanks Garden Crossings, you have my complete satisfaction.

I've just received my first order from GC, and the experience has exceeded my expectations. I ordered 10 plants and each arrived perfectly packed -- they were each bigger and more lush, by far, than any plant I've gotten from any other online seller, including ones with the highest ratings here. As a midwesterner, it's nice to order from a company that's nearby so the plants don't have to travel across the country in unpredictable weather. They don't have the widest or rarest selection, at least not right now (Fall catalog), but I very much appreciate the fact that their standard sized plants are considerably larger than the norm for mailorder and in some cases come in 1 gallon containers. Plus, since my order was over $75, shipping was free. The plants arrived 3 business days after I placed my order. I'm absolutely delighted and wish I'd ordered more from them.

Sorry to bust the 100/100 score but the most recent order that i received was LOUSY!!!

I had orderd some coleus, which showed up with all their tops cut off to fit in the box. The packing was lousy, it looks like the plants are all in shock with many broken branches and lost leaves.

The perilla "Gage's Shadow" all look very root bound in their small containers and are also in shock.

Aslo on that order were some strobilanthes "Persian Sheild' also with their tops cut off.

The only decent plant in the bunch was an euonymus wich was small enough to fix inside the box.

I would give this company an F- in packing, I will see what I can do to save these lousy plants they sent me.

It goes without saying...I wont order from these folk ever again.

I love ordering from this company. The plants I receive are so big and beautiful, I have yet to get plants like this from any other mail order company. I just cannot say enough about how beautiful the plants are when they are received. They are healthy, big. I always get a thrill when I see a Garden Crossing box on my doorstep. And everything I have purchased from them were delived in a timely manner. I have one plant I ordered about two weeks ago and got last week and it is starting to bloom and I am so excited. It is a phlox and I have never had phlox and did not think I could grow a phlox yet there it is in the garden just about to bloom. And I also ordered Joe Pye Weed which I have ordered from somewhere else, not sure where, but which did not live long enough for me to enjoy. This Joe Pye Weed I have great hopes for. Since it is a great butterfly plant I have been wanting one for awhile. This plant has put on so many new leaves it does not even look like the same plant, this is in just over a week. And again, the plant looked awesome when I got it, now it looks even better. Only one minor flaw that I feel I must report. My last order of two plants was shipped on August 27. By September 1 I had not received the order. Now this site has an excellent way of going to your account, checking the status of your order and then tracking the delivery. So I tracked the delivery and FedEx said that the produce arrived here damaged and they were awaiting instructions from the shipper as to what to do. Finally on September 6 I checked again and the plants had been sent back to the company and I have a new ship date of September 11 for my plants. Now my only complaint is that I was never notified by the company about what was going on with my plants. The only way I new was by checking the tracking on the FedEx site. I do appreciate however that they are not willing to send me damaged goods and are doing their best to get them replaced. I would have probably just let these two plants go and not continue with my order but they are two plants I am pretty excited about getting. So just a small glitch in an otherwise awesome mailorder site. And I would still, without hesitation, buy from this one again. I probably shouldn't as I have spent too much money on plants but their plants are just so awesome when you receive them that I cannot help myself. Also the shipping seems to be a lot more reasonable than a lot of other places. I cannot stand buying a packet of 1.25 seeds and it costs 6.00 to ship. So ridiculous. But the shipping a Garden Crossing seems quite reasonable. Great company, would recommend to anyone.

I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am with this company. The plants I received were healthier, bigger,and greener than I buy at my local nurseries. I had questioned that they sent me the correct varieties and their customer service was superb...and...they were correct...and I was wrong...but they were very very patient with me! This was the first time I had ever ordered plants by mail order. I think they spoiled me and it will be hard for all other companies to impress me as this one did. I also loved the size of their plants. Because of the intense dry and hot conditions a 2 1/2 inch by 3 inch usually barely makes it here, and always has a tough time getting started here. I have a policy to use only gallon plants, however their 5 inch plants did fine...good root system for sure!

I have been gardening for over 10 years, and I have dealt with many many Garden Centers.
Then I found "Garden Crossings" on the internet, an since
they seem to have lots of unique plants, I ordered 6 Items.
Here comes this large box, and when I opened it, I found that the plants they send where almost fully grown(i.e. large Box) and in truly wonderful healthy condition !!...................
I have in all those years never received such almost fully grown plants, and in such great Health !!!............
I planted everything, and they almost instantly started to bloom, what a JOY :)
And what a wonderful suprice :)

I ordered a 2 gallon size viburnum nudum 'brandywine' from this company. They shipped it within two days and I received it yesterday. What a beautiful big healthy plant they sent me. I am very pleased. I will definitely order from them again. A+++++

I received my first order from Garden Crossings yesterday in the midst of extreme heat and drought. Have to admit I was leary about doing it, but everything came in wonderful condition. The packing excellent and professional, the plants outstanding. No signs of stress whatsoever. Clematis, Butterfly Bush, Asters, Heucheras all great. They are a delight to deal with in all aspects. Even phoned me regarding a question. Unusual for a company to do this in this day and age. No better than Garden Crossings in my book.

I am new to reviewing companies, but not to gardening nor to mail-order nurseries. This is one of the best. Their deliveries are consistently quick, their product arrives in excellent condition and well worth the price which is comparable to other on-line companies which may not deliver the same excellent level of quality. I can't think of a single plant I've purchased from them that has not thrived in my garden. Highly recommend Garden Crossings.

I have placed two orders with this company. The plants arrived in excellent condition, they were very carefully packaged. I definately intend to place future orders with this company and highly recommend garden crossings.

I ordered 3 Black Beauty Elderberry and 3 Blueberry Muffin shrubs. All were packaged very well and arrived in great condition. Shipment was fast and as expected. The Elderberry were large, and I feel I got my money's worth. The Blueberry Muffin shrubs seemed a bit small for what I paid, but my expectations could be unreasonable because I do not have them available locally to compare size/price ratios. All in all, I would order from them again.

I have ordered twice from this company, and I love them. The plants we're large and luscious. The shipping was fast, and the plants came well protected. I have done a lot of online plant ordering and this company has really impressed me with their quality.

I placed a first time order with this company this spring and was so impressed that I would restrict my ordering only to them. The plants arrived healthy and bigger than I expected. The box could have been turned upside down and the plants would have been ok. Each plant had a cardboard protector over the soil taped in so the soil could not fall out of the pot. Each plant had two sturdy stakes in the pot to keep the plants from being crushed. I have full confidence in ordering from Garden Crossing. They are a quality, dependable organization.

I have ordered twice from this company. The email response is quick and accurate. The plants arrived in three days in impeccable condition. They were fresh, full and quite large. What a delight. The packing was also perfect.(I ordered Mallows and Heucheras). I would order from this company in a heartbeat. If these plants die, it would be my fault-not Garden Crossings!

I hesitate to give a neutral when I've had such an experience as this one with Garden Crossings. I ordered 3 Clematis and a variegated dogwood and one Joe Pye weed. The company waited almost a week to ship, which was fine. But when the box arrived, the results of riding around the country with Fed Ex were for the most part, horrible.

The dogwood wasn't even in a pot. It was dry and yellow and had been so for days. The clematis were in sad shape also. The container with the dogwood didn't have the cardboard collar on it, the plant tag was upside down, buried in the pot. The dogwood was in the middle of the other plants. The clematis appear broken and one is withered and dead. I contacted the company and was told by Heidi, to plant the plants and give them 2 wks. I did as she asked but as of today, the dogwood is deader and the one clematis is deader also. Again, I contacted the company and again, Heidi said they would reship in the next few days. Seeing as we are in the middle of summer now, I requested either a later shipping date or refund. I prefer the refund and will gladly box the dead plants up and send them back to the company so they can make sure I'm telling the truth.

I will update this as soon as the problems are addressed . If someone from the company is listening. Refund for the 2 plants will be much more appreciated than reshipment since they'll have to go through winter as small plants and probably will not come back next spring. But will update the rating as soon as I get something, plants or refund.

This will be one of the only places I will now mail order plants from. This spring I had ordered a bunch of coneflowers. All of them came huge and ready to bloom. They were so healthy, and all of them are doing great in my garden. So when they had a sale on hostas this past week I decided to try their hostas. I have over 200 hostas in my collection, so I know a good hosta when I see it. I ordered on a Friday and had my order on Saturday. The hostas were absolutely huge!! You won't be disappointed with them!

I made my first purchase with Garden Crossings last end of May, ---shasta daisy summer snowball, sunset coneflower and harvestmoon coneflower. All of them came in excellent condition. Today, my summer snowball shasta daisy is giving a big show of very fantastic blooms! My sunset coneflower is showing some flower buds while the harvestmoon is trying to show some more fresh, healthy, new leaves. The first time I received these plants, I told myself I'll be back to order some more! They sent healthy plants with good roots. Thank You!

Wonderful plants!! After FedEX managed to send the box all around for a week, I finally received the plants. I ordered 3 hibiscus and 3 torenia. The Blue Satin hibiscus has BLOOMS on it!! Wow!!

Everything was wonderfully packed and none the worse for wear from their long trip which shouldn't have been.

I will definitely order from them again. Very impressed!

Not to pile on the platitudes but I recently received
a couple of shipments from Garden Crossings and
to say the least, the plants were well packaged and
appeared very healthy. Transportation was reason-
able and customer service answered a question
concerning the appearance of one of the plants in
a timely fashion. You couldn't ask for more from an
internet supplier. Keep up the good work and more
orders will be forthcoming.

I am very impressed with Garden Crossings. I ordered a lilac and viola from them. The plants arrived quickly (within days rather than weeks like some other companies). I was able to choose my shipping date. They were well packed, given no room to shift around or lose dirt. And they were big, bushy, and very healthy. The lilac was only in a 5-6 inch pot, but it was bigger and more lush than lilacs I've received in 1-gallon containers, yet it wasn't rootbound.

I'm very happy with them and will definitely order from them again.
