Because this company has high ratings on watchdog, I ordered 4 plants from them on Oct. 1, 2023. I live in San Francisco and they are in Michigan, yet I received my order on Oct. 7, 2023. The plants were well packed and arrived without any damage, All were healthy, and to my pleasant surprise, they were bigger than plants I've ordered from other companies. I think their prices are very reasonable, particularly since you get a large sized plant.

A little nervous ordering plants mid-summer, but as usual they arrived in great shape. Shipped overnight, carefully packed to avoid reduce spilling soil, and obviously watered before their trip. Looking forward to planting them.

Gardening since the mid 70's (damn, I'm old). Have purchased from walk-in, mail order and on line nurseries. This is right at the top. Plants are large and healthy, prices are reasonable, service is excellent and packing might survive a nuclear blast. Can't comment on customer service as I've never needed help. have ordered a couple of times per year fror the psat few years and am completely satisfied. As a side note, their YouTube videos are instructive and helpful.

I have asked Daves Garden to update or provide clarification at the top of this page where it says 100% guarantee. They guarantee only that the plant survives mailing and only then if you notify them within 24 hours of its arrival. On arrival, mine were intact, yet two were small and fragile. One began dying of shock just a couple of days later and didn't improve with any of my efforts. I had incorrectly assumed "your complete satisfaction is our #1 goal" meant better coverage than 24 hrs, but their actual policy is on their website for you to read so don't make the same mistake I did.

This was my first order to Garden Crossings and I was pretty well pleased. The plants were shipped when I requested and very well packaged. The two I received were of fair size for the price and looked healthy. While Proven Winners plants come with a useful small information guide that can also be attached to the plant as a label these plants were too small for that and the paper guides do not last in the weather I have found. Some plastic labels that can be inserted in the ground would be a plus.

Ordered clematis (perennials) from them in May 2019, planted with care. (Over 50 years of gardening experience) When in spring of 2020 they did not come back I called asking for refund,as they no longer carry the same clematis. Was told that I had 45 days from purchase to report such loss... So much for warranted perennials plant!!! Makes no sense. How are you to know if it is going to survive the winter...NEVER AGAIN !!! Bad service not to mention the sarcastic Rep I spoke with.

I ordered 6 Heuchera "Blondie in Lime" plants from Garden Crossings. The plants were packed very well, arrived on time, in great condition. I will, in future, be ordering from them with confidence, since these plants were of such high quality. This gardening year, I have ordered from approximately 6 on-line vendors from the Watchdog 30, and one that was not part of the Watchdog 30 (Wayside Gardens). My experience with all of them has been favorable, but the quality and condition of these plants is among the best I have received. Aside from the shipping expenses, I find it much more convenient to order exactly what I want on-line, as opposed to visiting 5 garden centers to choose from a limited number of varieties, and finding that the selection may not include the plants that I originally set out to get. I have ordered from them for a couple of years. I have been consistently very satisfied with the plant stock I've received. They are always packed well and very healthy when they get here. Their prices probably reflect the extra care they take in growing and shipping. I figure I get what I pay for, and just limit my purchases to something I really really want. Not a bad thing, right?

This was my first experience ordering plants online, doing so only because I really wanted a Cherry Cheesecake Hibiscus, and I've never seen them available at my local greenhouses. I chose Garden Crossings based on their excellent reviews. In February I purchased the 3Gallon Cherry Cheesecake Hibiscus, and added a Berrylicious Hibiscus, a couple Campanula, and a couple Geraniums. The wait began! On May 5th, I received an email with my shipment tracking number (awesome!), and my account was showing a pending transaction for the total amount owed. The plants arrived the next day, right on schedule... only there was no Cherry Cheesecake Hibiscus. My entire order except for the one item I truly wanted was there (and exceptionally packaged, by the way). I left a message for Heidi, and after waiting the weekend without a response, sent a follow-up email on Monday asking about the status of my balance. After no response from Garden Crossings, I checked my bank account again on Tuesday and saw the transaction had been adjusted, and only the items I had received had been debited. Unsure if there would be a backorder charge with additional shipping, I called back again and Heidi answered. When I inquired about the order, she said "The hibiscus looked small, and she wasn't sure". I didn't know what that meant, so I asked to cancel the balance of the order. It was pretty disappointing. I will say that the items I did receive are beautiful and very healthy, but they're plants I could have bought locally.

This company ROCKS! The website is great: nicely laid out website, easy to negotiate, and informative too...if you order from them, things seem to ship out on the next Monday, which is really nice....on my first order, I ordered on Sunday, and the items shipped the next day, and then I received them that Thursday...fantastic! The items were perfectly packaged: packaged in an intelligent, safe manner, and obviously packaged with care....A+ right there....the items were of a nice size and extremely healthy looking with good quality soil.... I've communicated with them via email---they are very friendly, thorough, helpful, and informative...they seem to be a family-owned type of company; they obviously care about pleasing their customers, and most of all, providing a quality product....(I appreciated them even more after having bad experiences with other companies)... You can't go wrong with Garden Crossings....A+ to them...10 out of 10....100% rating; what else can I say? I look forward to ordering from them again, although I'm running out of room in my garden! This company is stellar....

Posted on May 25, 2013, updated June 24, 2013 Posted on May 13, 2005, updated May 25, 2013 I was astonished by the plants I received! I'll be looking at this company for more plants from now on. They're as professional as it gets. The plants are in 2 qt. pots, 2 years old and ready to go. Just a little worse for the wear, but compared to other companies I've ordered from over the years, they're tops. Now i have to go buy a new pot for the container garden I was planning because these plants are way too big to go in the one I'd planned to use for them. Nice problem to have.

On October 9th, 2005, revclaus added the following: It's fall and the plants I bought last spring have grown beautifully! They've doubled or more in size, and they're as healthy as any I've grown. I just ordered a bunch more that were 40% off due to end of season. I expect they'll be just as nice as the plants I ordered earlier.
On October 15th, 2005, revclaus added the following: They are! The Clementine Red columbine were about 1-1/2 feet tall with a good root system. The Pandora's Box hosta was enchanting, nicely grown. I also bought Pennisetum "Hameln" and Viola "Columbine", both of which were perfect. Good thing I got in on their autumn sale. They're going in the garden today.
On May 14th, 2006, revclaus added the following: I ordered again this spring, and everything they sent was in great shape. They send big plants, and accommodated by need to get out in the garden early. They were skeptical, but I insisted and they arrived right on time for me. I just wish they wouldn't use FedEx. In my experience FedEx beats up plants .
On May 19th, 2007, revclaus added the following: More orders this year -- several, in fact -- and I was happy with all of them. This year some of the soil had been knocked out of the containers and plants were bent over. One echnicaea and a coleus were severely bent over and had to have about 6" of the top removed. I don't like to have to return things, so I didn't. I transplanted them, then added more dirt. So far so good.
On May 13th, 2009, revclaus changed the rating from positive to negative and added the following: This is NOT a commentary on their product or service. It's a comment on their prices which went up this year to the point that I can no longer afford to buy from them. I did buy five calibrachoas but that's the extent of my purchase.
On May 25th, 2013, revclaus added the following: I ordered from GC this spring but was disappointed in the heucheras I received. They're sold in 5.5" pots, but the roots were obviously liner length. What they sell as a larger plant turns out to be mostly potting soil with very few roots. I emailed a complaint but have not heard back from them. I won't be ordering from GC again. Stopped ordering in 2009 due to prices, ordered again this year expecting good value, but got poor value instead.
On June 24th, 2013, revclaus changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following: Heidi at GC contacted me. She didn't replace the plant, but I was satisfied that she responded. The plant I complained about is growing, though slower than the matching plant and they're in the same pot. I ordered some echinaceas sometime later and because I had entered two different shipping addresses, she emailed to check, and emailed to double and triple check. Then she called when my card was declined. I appreciated that too. I definitely wanted those coneflowers! I had bought one earlier. My neighbor saw it in bloom and wanted one exactly like it. Since it was doing so well in a large pot I ordered a smaller one for a smaller pot. Great plants, and finally, responsive service. Yay Heidi!

Posted on May 8, 2013, updated May 10, 2013 Posted on May 6, 2013, updated May 8, 2013 I placed 2 separate orders and they were both shipped today. For one of the orders I got a call saying that they only had 6 of the 12 1gallon Bobo hydrangeas I ordered MONTHS AGO. Although frustrated, I told them to send them anyways. Tonight I noticed on my bank account that I was not only charged for all 12 hydrangeas but I was charged TWICE!! I am completely embarrassed because my account has insufficient funds and someone I owe money to is trying to run my card and its being declined. I am not happy.

On May 8th, 2013, Lbbaber changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following: The first order arrived today. Very well packaged. Perhaps some of the best packaging I've seen for mail order plants. The plants look great also. The company has fixed the error in billing. I'm just waiting for the money to return to my account (I think the delay is on my bank's side).
On May 10th, 2013, Lbbaber changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following: I got my 6 Bobo hydrangeas today. I had been worried that because they were the "last 6" that they had they wouldn't be as nice as the rest of the supply. I have to admit they are beautiful!!!! Packaged very well and big robust plants. They are stunning....my neighbors almost didn't believe me when I said they were mail order. Also, the hold on my accounts expired yesterday so my funds were returned to my account this morning. I will order from them again if I see something I need. I have been shopping with Garden Crossings for several years. Each year I would go to local garden stores to find both annuals & perennials and was always disappointed. I found Garden Crossings online by accident while searching for a plant I saw at a local store. I was skeptical about mailorder for live plants. When they were delivered they were larger and healthier than anything I found locally. The packaging is sturdy so the plants are protected . Yes, there is a shipping charge but think of the gas spent running around to plant stores! I have never been disappointed and will order again this spring.

I've ordered two shipments from Garden Crossings (2011 & 2012). The first time all the plants were in superb condition, however, the second time I received unhealthy looking Million Kisses Begonias and the shippers damaged my wax begonias which weren't as tightly packed as the year before. When I contacted them a representative told me that the Million Kisses Devotion begonias would soon recover with home care and in fact they did completely recover two weeks later after I repotted them and put them on my indoor plant regimen (rotating Miracle-Gro + humic acid & vinegar + hydrogen peroxide every two days). The representative also gave me a refund for the begonias. This year I got a Super Sweet 100 tomato plant that's produced 301 tomatoes so far. That's amazing considering I'm a new gardener and I had never grown a vegetable before. I'm very happy with my Garden Crossings purchases overall. The sales people are polite, the quality is above average for a moderate price, and their web site is attractive, easy to use, and informative.

Also bought Solar Flare. All 6 plants were hugh!!! I had ordered from 4 companys and these plants were the biggest. Very healthy. This company was the most expansive of the 4 but still would order from them again. I got FREE SHIPPING with $75.00 order. The plants were well packaged and the soil stayed in the pots.
