These things grow to 15 - 20 pounds so are most suitable for pies or other processed dishes, Vines take up a lot of space. This is one cultivar that puts down roots at every node so the infamous squash vine borer can be held at bay by burying the vine at each node. Probably the best keeper of the winter squashes and one the better flavored. Shell is extremely hard and requires effort to open.
