I tried various remedies over about 3 years and eventually dug them all up and tossed them. I've gotten to be very hesitant to plant any of the newer varieties and will probably stick to the older ones.

Deep purple-red petals that fan around the center instead of drooping down. Closer to red than any other variety. Height 35".
I was rooting for this plant, but it got a disease and I had to destroy it. Plantspotter's' admitted to their problem and I will try again.
