When they bloomed their one day flowers they were beautiful 2 1/2" deep burgundy too. They barely show because of being same color as foliage but are quite a spectacle blooming off & on thru Summer. In a pot the 6" cuttings got 24" in 6 months before going dormant for Winter. I brought them in my garage when temps fell below 40*. 2017 will be the 1st full year of growth so I'll update later.

Planted these around June 2013 and they have taken hold pretty quickly. I know that the description states that they grow to about 4' but...Read More mine are easily 5' plus and have had to be trimmed back twice so far. They seeded easily and now I have about 40 + plants in various sizes. I love the color that it adds to my landscaping. Great plant for the Tampa, FL area.
