I think they do not like too much shade and rich soil moisture in winter and need a really sharp drainage by the way. Now I have a self-seeded one that looks like winky purple and it likes it in one of the hottest parts of my garden where a lot of plants died out, it had just a rosette of leaves last year and this year it is blooming and very nicely!!! Now I really like it and hope it will make more babies:)
