Being in the South Island of New Zealand, winters are mild to cold, with frosts around -3 to -5 C and up to -8C. Summer temperatures peak at about 25 C. The soil has 6.9pH. I feed the plant a little blood and bone and a little slow release general fertiliser (Nitrophoska). I spray all our irises regularly with a trichoderma mix to avoid bacterial disease and rot, and an insecticide, although I have never seen insects or pests on this plant.

This year, it did it again. I love blooms in November so this is NOT a complaint. The color is an amazing yellow-green. I only wish it grew faster. Doesn't seem to spread the way others often do. I would love more blooms.
