It did not produce fruit un...Read Moretil late summer and I did leave several green on the vine when frost came. I am not sure if it was supposed to do that or not but production was a little above average. The tomatoes were pretty much all standard 2 inches in diameter and were acceptable in taste. I mean I would compare taste to better boy, but it is no brandywine, merrianna's peace, cherokee purple, black krim, etc. I did not have problems with cracking with this tomato and that says a lot because my soil is loamy sand which does not hold water well. As advertised, I also did not have problems with disease with this tomato. To be fair, I did not grow rowdy red in the best spot in my garden so I may have had better results if it were in a more sunny location.

Planted one Rowdy Red this past season and it grew beautifully and produced an abundance of fruit even when my other tomatoes did not do ...Read Moreso well. Luckily others loved the taste of this tomato and I gave most of them away. I found it way too sweet for my taste, I prefer a more acidic tomato.

Grown in "12 gallon" growbags & soil which had a pH of 7.7 -8 & this plant managed to still pump out fantastic tasting tomatoes in great quantity. Unfazed by disease or daily (or nearly daily watering) & heat never shut down prodution. Invited back to our garden but in one of the raised beds next year. Saved seed - it is that good.
