Many Japanese MGs have h...Read Moreuge blooms , almost too huge to maintain the petals by itself. So it's better NOT let it climb and crawl freely , that will often make the flowers come out to be imperfect-shape or broken-petal.

Try to "disbud" the top when the plant has 10 leafs.This will control its invasive vines and keep it short. Also those side-vines which grows out later will bloom more than the original main vine.

These fit almost every kind of huge-bloom Japanese MGs.

Mine look just like the photo from Gerris2. Such a deep, rich color. One of my favorites.
