One of these plants managed to survive our winter protected at the base of a fig tree under tarps. It will be interesting to see how it does this summer. As mentioned in the review below, it doesn't produce many flowers in our zone either but it is an interesting plant which doesn't take up too much space. I just wish it was cold hardy.

Even a group of them isnt that impressive as the flowers are so sparse. Mine also seem to have a tall and gangly habit with a tendency to flop or lean over.
Salvia involucrata ‘Bethellii’ is similar to mulberry jam and from what ive seen is a better, more impressive plant (although slightly more tender).
