Ripe fruit ...Read Moreis usually very sweet but heat has varied hugely and doesn't seem close to the 30,000-50,000 scoville range burpee mentions most of the time. Most of them never reached jalapeno levels of heat. Some had almost no heat, and a friend who hates hot peppers and her daughter were snacking on them one day without problems.

These do excellent in pots, plants grow decently tall but stay pretty narrow. They're strong enough to hold their fruit but I usually stake just in case of very heavy wind or rain.

Collected seeds will germinate and produce large cayennes but since this is an F1 hybrid the results might not be the same as the original. Easy to germinate seeds for peppers made the first packet I got last several years anyway.

This is a thick cayenne pepper with good taste and heat.
