Daylily 'Magic Amethyst'

How this survived the Florida sun where it was introduced is beyond me if it can't stand the mild summer sun of Zone 6 Michigan. The color is pretty but I have a much older (and cheaper) lilac daylily, which is an equally true and clear lavender color , "Lavender Tonic", which is a much better grower and has better substance to boot. "Magic Amethyst" is the only disappointment of all the newer DLs I've bought.
