The leaves on the centaurea dealbata are different than any other plant in the expanse of the flower field while its flower is soft in texture and hot pink in color it makes a statement from near and far. Casual garden guests find this plant striking and are often interested in aquisition. Last year, the second year of it's life here in the expanse, it had to be divided and now I have three of this treasured plant. This year the original plant is 3 ft. tall and the same wide. It will be divided again. It is growing in plain top soil and wood chips without fertilizer or frequent watering although this year the frequent rain has proven that it responds positively to consistent irrigation. Overall a prolific grower and consistent bloomer with a overall serrated light grey-sage leaf style that is different than all other plants in the expanse. Truely an art form.
