I have been searching for i.d. for a few years & am now very certain it is indeed a Double Buttercup - flowers are very small (buttercup-sized) though they do indeed look like miniature Trollius blooms.
Very pretty; lots & lots of bloom over a very long period May right through June. I cut it back after flowering; gets quite leggy towards end of bloom season. Easily divided in spring or autumn. Has acted as a clump-former for me, not at all invasive. Nice plant.
