Caterpillars feed on members of the Solanaceae family. Primarily potatoes.

Found primarily in the southern US, but can appear as far north as southern Canada.

The adult moths are nocturnal feeders and favor the same type of flowers as hummingbirds do. At dusk, they are sometimes mistaken for them.
