I've trained this on a chain link fence. It's best to train it low at first, then allow it to climb to the top of the fence a year or so ...Read Morelater. Mine wants to make most of its growth on top as toothpick sized shoots wrapping around themselves.
The stems are thin and so this plant can make a very tight 'hedge' on a fence.
I get lots of runners along the ground. They put down roots enough to supply free ground layered plants. These can be cut into small sections and potted.
The largest flowers have only been 1" wide.
Fruits are small, shiny black when ripe, pea-sized and not in abundance.
This is one of most exquisite scents of all the jasmines that I have-really worth getting it. Mine came from Toptropicals as well, but I ...Read Morewas fortunate to have it start to bloom a year after I got it. I have it in full sun from early am to early evening and it seems to like that much sun.
I bought this plant from Top Tropicals' about three years ago. The waxy 2-3" leaves are medium green with small white flecks in random. G...Read Morerowing in a one gallon pot, I have trained this into a 18" elongated oval. As clockwork, the three year rule (1st year grows down, 2nd year grows up, 3rd year bloom/fruits.) was true. In early summer it started blooming in sets of white eight narrow curled petaled flowers, extremely fragrant. Now at the beginning of fall, it is still blooming! Where the first blooms began, green then to purple/black berries have formed. Some single and more comically, some form a pair of berries from one flower. The fruit is about the size of a pinkie finger nail. The birds love them, but I am not sure of their toxicity. I have enjoyed this rare endemic of Meghalaya State (India). I hope this will help make this more popular. I could not find much info on this beauty.
