Seen often on our family farm SE of Minot, ND. Back in the late 1950s, had some great pheasant hunting in SW North Dakota...

Back in the '60s when I was a teenager Pheasants were VERY common in Eastern PA, but then I believe there were strong efforts to bring back birds of prey in the area, and thus, now the beautiful Pheasant is rarely seen. I guess there is a give and take to everything.

They are certainly common here in MN! You see them all the time along the sides of the road around our neighborhood, in the fields and grassy areas. When I am out walking the dog they often fly up and startle us; and sometimes they will do the same when we are driving, coming dangerously close to the front of the car! They are beautiful.
