Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Here is my 1st none potted bloom. Well the 1st that didn't have a virus. L. Dauricum seedling.

That is soooo cool! I'd buy that in a heartbeat......

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

I really like that.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

NEAT!!!! BEV

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Intersting color combination. Mount Negro opened it's first flower today.

Cool! It's got a unique look to it. I like it.

Dani Arifin opened today.

Here's hope for anyone that has had to throw out virused lilies. A couple years ago I had a virused Kiss Me Kate, discarded it and segregated what was left. Still looking good!

Intercessor, I didn't realize you had started a thread IV to accommodate this chatty crowd. I will contact admin and hopefully they will delete or incorporate my postings here. Sorry for the confusion

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Oooops, forgot to add a link at thread #3.

I think this is Aphrodite. I planted some Ceres a few years back and a couple of these were mixed in with them.

Here you can see that the Aphrodite have multiplied nicely and are mixed with with the Ceres which will bloom in a few days. I need to get the two separated sometime.

Intercessor, did you get dauricum seeds from NALS? And if so, is it the lot that was described as having a "pink overlay"? Just wonderin' here...

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Actually I got them direct from Darm Crook in Canada :*)

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Ah, intercessor, you sure got the "ins" now don't you! So now I wonder if he got seeds from NALS, lol! The reason I am asking is I purchased a lot or two but haven't started them.

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

I think this is Faith, not sure. Looks a little faded, what is it w/ me and faded bulbs????

and I think these are Stargazer from WM.

Darm grows them, lots and lots of them... Zone 1 of all places, about 2000 miles north of me.

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Congrats Susan, Mary, Daltri on your blooms :-) Very pretty, all of them!

Nery, I think it is the sun - especially many of the pastel shades bit also some of the reds will bleach in our strong sun. Maybe partial sun will help - are yours protected from the afternoon sun? I used to grow "Stones" for example as an Asiatic but it faded horribly and always looked ratty. Pretty Stargazers BTW - I have a few coming back from last year but mine are nowhere near blooming yet.

OK a major DUH moment here... of course... Darm must have been the donor of the NALS seeds! And a review of my old seed lists proved it. From 2007, Darm donated 5 lots of "pink overlay" seeds. I purchased 97-142. Darm does good work, doesn't he!

Nice shot Steve ~ pretty daylilies too. :)

I agree, lovely picture Steve. Are the White Trumpret there in the picture your Long Island ones?

Tomah, WI

Steve, Looks like your daylilies are also putting on quite a show! Beautiful with the lilies.

Saint Bonifacius, MN(Zone 4a)

Darm sure has some nice species variations. That one is way out of the norm. I like it a lot.

Rick If I can get my house sold and move to a bigger place, I will try to grow more species and spread the species love around ^_^

Thanks all :-)

Rita, the trumpety ones are actually yellow and they're OT's - American Spirit I think.

I am not sure what this one is but it is different and interesting - doesn't really match anything in my records. They are goldish with maroon specks.

Here is Sunny Crown - an OA

This one came as a bonus from Buggycrazy so I couldn't find anything in my "records". Steve, does your yellow look anything like this?

Thumbnail by Moby
Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Actually it does, Mary! I think I have a pic of it from underneath.....any ideas what it is? I thought it was a Buggy lily as well since I planted hers mainly in that same area.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Such nice pictures. 'Sunny Crown' is one of my favorites too. It's very cheery looking, isn't it? One of those lilies that you'd swear was smiling right at ya.

I feel like we are weeks behind this year. It has been quite cool, with an occasional scattered warm day, but not a lot of consistency there. So I count on these blooms to appear from those of you with blooming lilies in your yards.

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Well Tracey, I am jealous - it is getting hot here and we're supposed to be in 90's the rest of the week :-( The OT's and daylilis seem to handle that pretty well though; hopefully the edge will come off after the week's over

Whatever you are doing, I'd say your lilies look mighty happy there Steve. I mean just LOOK at those towering stems! They are taking the heat in stride, I'd say. Those OTs are gonna be taller than your house soon!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Steve ~ your lily sure looks a lot like mine. Do you think you might have gotten it from BC? I believe there was some discussion last year as to whether or not it really was Citronella.

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Well Mary interesting you should say that - the only species-type or pendant Asiatics I did order were from Buggy or Old House Gardens, and the ones I got from my DG friends were not yellow. And I did order Citronella from OHG but haven't seen any lily like the one in the picture of Cit. on their site bloom, only this.

What a coincidence - but the Citronellas I have seen do not resemble this at all, really. OHG sources Citronella from Holland.

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Speaking of pendants, Tracey, I think you gave me this last year?

Moby I love the yellow bonus with the specks

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

I think it is 'Eros'...Very pretty.

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Here is a newly blooming OT - Belladonna I think?

Here is "Futura"

I had to stake almost all of the tall ones as they had been leaning badly with the weight of the open blooms

Wow, so pretty :-))
