June Daily Weather Blooms abound!

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Celia – I like your rug and chest of drawers! I’m getting ready to purchase a new bedroom suit for us. DH really needs to finish the floor in the living room so I can finish that room too! LOL. I can’t complain too much, he works everyday.
Se_eds – I just told DH the neighbors will probably be mad but it’s already 80 and I need to get the lawn done before it gets worse. Thank you – he’s a good kid. He gets edgy once in a while, but his happiness breaks through every time.
Kiska – Thank you. We’re not sure what is going to happen – we may have to put off our vacation for a little while. Are the currants growing in your garden?

Late good morning!
This morning I transplanted two Holly Ferns, dug up 20 iris, trimmed back some Ivy, and cut the grass in the pups' enclosure. Then I had breakfast. By 930, it was already above 80. Looks like 2/3 of the U.S. will hit 90 or higher today!

Lovely pics everyone. Adina I love the daisies and poppies.

HHH. Good time for a nap, now, I think. :)

Mandevilla blooming. Can't remember which one it is, though.

Celia: I have put that Classic Bordeau on my want list! Very pretty chest--I like the clean lines of it and the rug is lovely--love the leaf pattern! Congrats on the two buds on Iceberg! My Iceberg is still small but has been quite a showy performer since we planted it in March(or maybe it was Feb.) That's a very neat flower in your last photo--looks sort of like popcorn--on steroids! LOL Try to take some time to relax a bit now that family is going back to their homes.
Se_eds: you never cease to amaze me with all you do--spraying 800 daylilies!!! Good heavens!!
Kiska: how do you sleep when it is daylight for 24 hours? Do you have room--darkening shades? First time I have ever seen a currant blooming.
Sharon: gorgeous color on those New Guinea impatiens. I'm still marveling over that bloom on the torch lily!
Deb: your weather sounds like ours. One thing we do know--that mandevilla isn't pink! LOL
Dyson: I'm glad it wasn't dark at 7:22 a.m. LOL

I was out for 3 hours this morning defoliating my 3 Sunsprite tree roses--sniff, sniff, sigh. Here is what the poor things look like now. :o(( Aaarrrggghhh!!!
edited to add: BLACKSPOT!! GRRRRRR!!! Well, it could be worse, I could be losing live animals, such as TF's friend did or even worse than that, a loved one.

51°~11am; windy, cloudy and light.
MySharona~any time you can come up, will be good. Sounds nice, gettng new furniture. The currants are a hedge along side the front of the house.
Marsue~we don't even have curtains on most of the windows (blocks the view); and don't use room-darkening at all. We've just become used to the light nights. It's just beautiful out with the unexplainable pure light; the birds sing and people/kids are out playing till way past kids' bedtimes.
Will the roses recover? Too bad, they look huge.
TF~those temps sound tough to take. Keep cool:))
Dyson~light and calm, a good combination.
kwanjin~hope the day goes well; take care.
Deb~you've accomplished a lot this morning~in the heat, no less. We had a fire on the deck, drank coffee and now are ready to face the windy day.
10 pm ~ view from the deck.

Very pretty, Adina. Glad to see that your home is nearly finished, too.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Yes, Kiska, the roses should recover and hopefully they won't get blackspot again. We've had such a wet spring(but not lately) that it has been hard on several of my roses. I had to de-foliate 3 others, as well.
:o(( That's a beautiful view you have from your deck! It's hard for me to imagine having to have a fire this time of year. It's currently 91º here! LOL

Adina: great shot of the butterfly! Love all the wildflowers and such interesting names for them!

Woo! 90F on my shaded screen porch at 7pm.

Kiska, what an amazing 10pm view!

Millersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

Not too hot yesterday but very hot today with heat indices above 100%

adinamiti-"Powerful Man's Blood" looks like it could be one of the newer fragrant Sweet Peas. I have a large container of them that are just starting to twine around the netting good. You show us so many beautiful flowers from your country.
DebinSC - Temps are down to 88 now on my front porch. Humidity is still up there ( we usually don't have it that high up north, here).

We killed ourselves hiking again today. This time we went up to the Angeles National Forest. It is a mile high where we were, so there is some real forest there.

Thumbnail by Kelli
L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

There is also a lot of chaparral but with a different distribution of plants than the chaparral down here.

Thumbnail by Kelli
L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

Yuccas where in full bloom. There must have been thousands of them. This is the same species as we have down here but a different subspecies. This subspecies gets huge.

WOW, I have never seen yucca that large.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

That's the biggest yucca I have ever seen, Kelli! They certainly don't get that big around here---LOL. Nice shots of the chaparral and the Angeles National Forest.

While we're on the subject of big things, this is a jeffrey pine. Anyone want to guess how old it is? I have no idea.

Wow-talk about big trees, Kelli! Did they make you feel very small in nature's overall scheme of things? LOL I would have no idea about the age, either.

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

No, they didn't make me feel small, just fortunate to see them.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

well, Sid i think you named this thread a little inaccurately for my weather. more like March winds, July heat, and August rainfall! only thing blooming in this hot wind is cactus!

We are getting pounded w/ heat FAR above normal.
We've been in the low/mid 90's for almost a week.
The one break we had was yesterday... for our 4th ORVG RU .... it was low 80's an cloudy most of the day.

Today and Tomorow back in the 90's.
Most of the bad weather has just missed us..... but that could change rapidly..

Ric

(Zone 3b)

7am; 46°~heavy clouds w/rain during the "night". No wind.
Kelli~beautiful hiking country; from the trees, to the yucca, very nice.
Ric~seems the weather has been up and down there for the spring; glad it was nice for yesterday's event.
TF~looks as if you've also a variety of weather.
This summer is much like those of years ago; cooler and later. Still no wild roses in bloom, either.

69* and 4/10'' rain this morn. I was out cutting back iris stems till it started to rain.

Thanks to all who liked my iris!

I'm zipping in and out today. I have a lot to catch up on.

Balotesti, Romania(Zone 5a)

Normal temps today, 75 and cloudy, windy.
Kelly, that's a huge yucca, they all look great there ! Same for the trees! Is that you on the second picture?
Joey, love that lily!
Se_eds, the plant's name is Lathyrus tuberosus, flower looks very much alike the Sweet peas'. I found this link with much info :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lathyrus_tuberosus
Thanks, Kiska, cute robin!
Marsue, I find it interesting too to know the popular names of the plants.
