Haves, wants and oh please, please help me get a....

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

Happy, I would like to have some of the carex, the Cuban oregano, the geranium and tiarella if possible. Thanks.
I just went through to double check on requests and saw a few items I would love to have if available.
Hart-'Big Ears' lambs ears, old timey bearded iris, pussytoes and IF there is
any available, some of the Paprika achillea
Critter - if you have a few columbine babies I would like some please. And
some of the Hot & Spicy Oregano
Jody - I could not remember if I requested from you, but I would like some of the
Chocolate Joe Pye weed, the artemesia limelight, variegated water
celery, coreopsis 'Zagreb' and the purple millet 'Majesty'

If I have not listed your name on something you wanted on my original post about what I could bring, please let me know so I can get it potted up. Thanks.

Happy, could I get some more of the begonia grandis? I see the piece you gave me last year is just coming up and I'd like to try some in another spot.

Also sweet woodruff, geranium, spirea bridal wreath and any ajugas and lamiums you can spare. Someone is bringing me wood poppy. Is it you?

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Wyldeflwr and Hart: You got it!
Hart: Probably me -- I'll bring you wood poppy even if it wasn't me. The begonia grandis will be tiny because it is only just breaking dormancy (or germinating, as the case may be), but my guess is that it should transplant more easily while small.

I'm trying to ID the spiraea on "Plant Identification", and I now think it is a Deutzia of some sort -- probably gracilis. I love it. I've propagated it and have it all over the yard.

That's good to know. The one you gave me last year has one teensy little leaf coming up. I was so glad to see it.

Who gave me the solomon's seal last year? It's been blooming and it's soooooo pretty.

Let me know if you want me to look for it in my numerous shrub and tree books.

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

Happy, deutzia or whatever, I would love to have some of it.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Happy, that tiarella is lovely -- if you have enough, I would love some to bring down to my mother in law in NC.

I potted up about 20 Geranium 'Biokovo' starts this afternoon. It's a hardy cranesbill type with a white bloom. The cuttings I potted up a couple weeks ago look like they've rooted nicely... If anybody wants a bunch of it, I can bundle up a dozen or so stolon cuttings next Friday... I think I'm going to be bringing enough stuff along without trying to fit an extra flat of geraniums, and the cuttings should travel fine.

Also bare root will be big bags of 'Kentucky Colonel' spearmint, 'Chocolate Peppermint', and catnip.

If nobody speaks up about things like the Hibiscus syriacus, geranium, etc... I'll still bring a couple of pots, but won't bring lots because I figure I'd rather bring a wider selection of goodies if I can.

Brunswick, MD(Zone 6b)

wyldeflower, I'm not sure if you saw my request for arisaema dracontium/green dragon and greater celandine (wood poppy) double 'Flore Pleno' so I'm posting it again ^_^

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

miatablu, I have them for you already potted up.

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

Critter, could I have some of the white geranium please?

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Critter: I'd love some Geranium 'Biokovo' cuttings. The Running Tapestry does indeed run, but the markings on the foliage are nicer than the photo I posted -- I think your mother-in-law will like it if she doesn't mind a plant that runs. The markings don't develop until the foliage is mature. I haven't regretted any that I have.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

There are some places in her garden (and in my sister in law's, too) where a plant that runs like that would be just perfect! I'll see if I have room for a few potted 'Biokovo' and I'll put cuttings on my list to bring, also. Happy, there was a plant we were trying to get to you by potting up babies at my place -- lacy foliage, yellow blooms, oh heck like I can remember the name of it and it's right outside my front door, LOL... anyway, I've got one or two in pots, and I'll bring them. I'll even put the name on when i can remember it! Wait! Corydalis! That's it! LOL... anybody need Corydalis?

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

Every time I read updates, I see something else I want and feel so greedy asking for more but I would love some yellow corydalis!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Please ask... because I'd rather know that somebody is interested and try to bring enough to go around! I'm trying to avoid spending the last hour of the swap begging homes for orphan plants... LOL Besides, I think I've made plenty of requests from your list, also! :-)

Speaking of "orphan plants," I do have a friend with room for my extra tomatoes, but I'll happily bring some if people would like them... if there's interest, I'll inventory the extras and post a list of varieties (an assortment of heirlooms plus a few cherry types). I'm potting up some basil seedlings today, so I'll bring a handful of my favorite Italian basil also for anybody who just wants one or two plants... will try to remember to throw in a few packs of seed, too, for anybody who might not have gotten it from me previously.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

hart, would you please bring some of the moss rose cuttings for Jody so she can give them to me at the VA swap? Thanks!

(and thanks, Jody, for doing this!)

Strasburg, VA(Zone 6b)

hey critter....i couldn't tell if i asked for the spicebush or not, but i'd love it....when i'm more awake i'll have to go through all the haves and wants to make sure everything & everyone is covered

Any one want mimosa saplings?
Also have black walnut readily available & hackberry which is ok around black walnut trees

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

LOL... It's Sally who has the spicebush, but I was asking about it also... She gave me one last year that had 2 branches, and only one of them has leafed out a bit this spring -- unfortunately, that's the one that some critter broke! I'm blaming the big groundhog, because I saw him run pellmell through that bed a couple of times. It's not all the way broken off, and I've got it propped up... I'm hoping it will put out another shoot from the base and live! But I'm not sure it's going to make it. However, I don't know if I can really say, gee Sally, looks like I killed the one you gave me, may I have another? LOL

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Critter-- I owe you gloves -- haven't forgotten (well, that's not really true -- I meant to mail them, so I forgot and now have remembered). The corydalis you gave me are doing great! Is it easy to harvest seed? I want more! By the way, does anyone have corydalis elata to share? I assume not -- it is hard to find, but thought I'd ask.

I also have some ficus benjamina if anyone wants one.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Does anyone have any Creeping Jenny? I read it works nicely among hostas.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

You weren't meant to mail those gloves, just to give them to me when you saw me. No problem! I'm glad the corydalis is doing well. I've never tried to harvest seed from it, but I do get volunteers each year, so I'd say it's a good winter sowing candidate, anyway. :-) If anybody has one of the other colors of corydalis (I think it comes in purple!), I'd love to swap!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I got some creeping jenny (moneywort) from Hart last year, but the only extra I have is mixed up with some Vinca major (might be V. minor, but I'm not sure), which you probably do NOT want twining around your hostas! But if you want that mixed clump, it's yours. Otherwise, I'll pot it up and stick it in a corner of my parent's yard where the vinca can do its thing.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Hmm. Hart gave me some moneywort too -- I didn't realize it was the same as creeping jenny. I have to figure out where I put it. So no worries.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

That's what I got when I looked up "creeping jenny" in PF. :-)

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Ooo. I just looked up spicebush and it does ok in the shade! Now I'm interested!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Sally, there's going to be a wrestling match over your bush! ;-)

Strasburg, VA(Zone 6b)

that's ok critter....i'll pass....i love how i remember things with my own unique spin :-)

Brunswick, MD(Zone 6b)

Thanks wyldeflwr!

Here's the pic I said I'd post for what we call a ladyslipper.

Any positive ID's?

those are pretty..... i have no idea what a lady's slipper actually looks like, so i'm no help

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Don't save a spicebush for me -- I just meant it's now on my long list of plants I'm considering.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Aww... I want to mud wrestle for Sally's spice bush! It could be the 3 pm event (that's when Happy arrives, right?). I'll take a last critical look at mine before I leave and see if it looks like surviving...

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

Miata, I don't know what that is but I think it's beautiful.

Larlienda, please could you bring me a baby mimosa?

Happy, "creeping jenny or creeping charlie" lysimachia nummularia-If this is what you want, I can bring you some. I have the solid green which is supposed to have really pretty yellow flowers and the golden one, 'Aurea". I have oodles of the green. It finally has spread well and limited amounts of the gold. Let me know.

Does anyone want some Jerusalem artichoke? or Sweet Annie? I also have lots of Jewel Weed. I could hardly believe it when I saw some for sale yesterday at Green Springs.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Ooh, I'd love some solid green creeping jenny... there are places where it would do well but where the bright gold color of the one I got from Hart just doesn't seem right.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Wyldeflwr: I would love a little bit of lysimachia nummularia and most especially the jewel weed -- I have coveted that for ages!

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

have:

I don't have any flowers. I have four tomato plants left over (can't remember the specific cultivar...will add later). Does this mean I can't come? Maybe I'll come and just not trade. I don't want to be rude. I just want to meet everyone. But if anyone has any plants that are partial to half sun/half shade spots, my neighbor planted two huge flowerbeds in my front yard as a thank you for taking care of his dog, so I can use whatever is low maintenance.

I also love mint. I have an obsession with it. Someone is emailing me chocolate mint and I have spearmint growing. I love mint. I love it. And I'd like to try some lemon verbena. And any suggestions for what I can play with are welcome.

Oh! I did just order some lemon cucumber seeds and some bush bean seeds. They are fast growers (50-65 days). If they get here by Saturday I am more than glad to share! The lemon cucumber is supposed to be really yummy!

Laurel, MD(Zone 7a)

noobie, this will be my first time too and I am really excited about meeting everyone and sharing some of my plants as well as looking forward to picking up some others I don't have. Gardeners always want to share with each other and no one is expecting a one on one sort of trade from what I understand from earlier posts. I do have a variegated mint I can bring for you if you like. I forgot the name of it. I also have another mint that has always grown here. I don't know what it is and usually pull it out and compost it. I can bring some of that too and maybe someone there can identify it for us.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Audra,

I will be bringing some Shasta Daisies. They grow well in shade/part shade. You can also check my Trade List. I have a lot of seeds there that I still have plenty of. Some I am out of. lat me know! I just sent you a D-mail anyway.....

I can tell you now that Bec has posted several times that all are welcome--whether you have plants to trade or not. That is how all these Swaps work anyway....the more--the merrier... The idea IS to meet up with each other and have a good time.

For any others interested--I have been digging up my tiny, volunteer Tomato seedlings in my Tomato bed. I am almost 90% sure they are all from last years "monster vines" that were my red, cherry Tomatoes. SO many of them that I never got to pick and that just fell to the ground! I am planting them in cell packs as fast as I can dig them.....

Gita

edited to say--Jilll is the one with all the Mints...I am sure she will pop in any moment now and offer them to you....

Hi, Wyldeflwr! Sounds great to me! Can't wait to meet you! Maybe what I might do is go and buy a few interesting plants to bring with me. I don't come to gatherings empty-handed. I think I'll take a trip to the coop and see what's growin' over there.....

Glen Burnie, MD(Zone 7a)

Gita....

my daughter LOVES daisies! That sounds lovely. I sent you two d-mails back! :o)

Adamstown, MD(Zone 6b)

Hi - I can't make the swap because of family wedding but Jill mentioned some people might be interested in my yellow American honeysuckle, John Clayton, so I'm going to take some cuttings to her house when I pick up phlox on Friday.

Does anybody have an interest in daylily - Happy Returns? I really need to dig some of those so I'd be happy to send them along.

Sounds like you are going to have a great day!

Sherry

Noobie: I'm so sorry -- I must not have been clear in my post. I meant for you to let us know if there is anything that we have available that we can bring for you. Speaking for myself, at least, I plan mostly to bring plants that people have requested in advance, because I am a little short on time. I don't care at all if you give me anything, and I'm delighted you are coming. I think most of the DG folks feel the same. No worries at all if you aren't bringing plants -- we just want to meet you and have a good time.

Do you want any lemon balm? It grows like a mint.

Nutmegnana: I'd love some Happy Returns if you really have extra and Jill really has room.

Adamstown, MD(Zone 6b)

If Jill has room, I definitely have plenty. I'll check with her.
