I've only started them from seed, then killed them:( Maybe someone else here has grown them from bulbs.

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Sounds like I'd better leave it for someone else.....

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Better yet, Pard, why don't you go over and knock some sense into someone else? ;)

I so wish there was a way to make it all better for her.

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Now there's a good idea! ;)

(edit:I re-read this and realized this could be taken wrong. I said this without sarcasm)

Make that Superduper size lily bulb falls off shelf....

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

You sure it isn't

Man killed in Freak Accident! Shelf breaks due to strain from weight of Superduper lily bulb and is killed instantly!

...body dragged away by vicious stock killing, barking dogs...

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Farm over run with lily addicts, as woman's business threatens to close its doors, man succumbs while caught in super duper bulb cross-fire.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

...and of course it was an "accident";)

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Why, of course.

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Pard does she grow lilies in a field or some type of special mix? I wasn't able to see one piece of dirt on her bulbs. Maybe she bleaches them.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

They are field grown. She does a great job of cleaning them, doesn't she. And they smell so good. She just washes them very well, part of the job. Her soil probably isn't as heavy as mine as she is closer to the mountains.

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

My soil here is so heavy and thick. I am surprised the lilies don't suffocate.

I went through her entire catalog again -- I so want to order more, but I've got absolutely no room, except in shade, and I'm already pushing my luck by planting some super Buggy Scheherezades in what's probably a much too shady spot. Even briefly had those giant himalayan lilies in my shopping cart, because she says they can make it in zone 5 with mulch. But what the heck would I do with those things in my tiny urban lot?

Planted about 20 lilies today and didn't water them in because I think I'll have to replant the super sized L. Henryi bulbs tomorrow. I was running out of time and upper body strength, so I only planted them about 8" down, which didn't seem nearly deep enough when it came to backfilling, and that was with mounding the soil. Also did a bad job in the dark of flinging down some chicken wire, so I'm sure I won't be able to sleep worrying about the squirrels. I've been coating everything in Bonides's bulb powder because they talked me into it at the garden center. It can't hurt, right? Quickly ran out, though. Poor poor Buggy. But at least she doesn't keep everything all pent up. That's something right?

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

I'm full-up now, too. After this order, I definitely don't have room for a single thing more...but I'm glad I ordered a few more things anyway, even though I am otherwise trying to be disciplined and not order a single anything more until next year. (wish me luck with that, lol) I've decided to count this as a "special" situation....

I'm waiting to plant all my bulbs until Monday. It's supposed to be dry then.

Alright who is buying from Buggy. I was going through the orientals and when I checked the cart some said 'sold out' :*) Like Pink Paradise and Early Rose...

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Were you buying more than one of them? That happened to me when I was ordering 3 "Momentous". When I changed it to 1 the sold out sign didn't come up...

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Sorry, wasn't me, I got my Early Rose the first time around. :)

Divernon, IL(Zone 5b)

Finished the 1st round of lily plantings today; and now I await the arrival of the 2nd round (ie- Buggy Crazy's second order).
