The sickness continues...

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

so... where are you hiding the bulbs now? I have 2 late arrivals in the basement & am debating if I should go out in this 50 degree weather & pop them into the ground.....

What do you guys think? We'll be frozen solid again within a week or so.

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Absolutely!!!! I'm suppose to hit 68* tomorrow and I'm out with a late batch of daffs that I was considering forcing, but will plant now! Yoo Hoo for this strange wacky weather. Darn near 70* on New Year's Eve....who da thunk it!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

70 degrees??? Wow! Yippee! I'll declare Spring and bury the little buggers tommorrow!

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

I was just checking site out to see what any body would possible buy more of these .the strangest thing happened
my fingers became passed and i just kept on hitting buy button till I sept all my Christmas money and a little of the water bill maybe ?? I need help ??

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Tazzy--Possessed????

Roll your chair BACK from the computer--take your fingers OFF THE KEYBOARD! Gambling the water & heat money on an auction website could be dangerous to your health. So...will we see you out digging thru the snow to plant these new babies??? You had better put bliners on, girl! LOL

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Sniff I want More ??

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

More ? More? More? Disconnect your "favorites" button or that Lily addiction is going to ruin your life. next thing we know, you'll be selling your grandchild on Ebay to get $$ for your habit.

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Whats the going rate on the little buggers ??Just wondering?

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

I think blond, blue eyed boys bring the most. Should be some young yuppie couple out there eager to get a new toy....

Maybe I could put up my pair and save myself some college $$$. More $$ for daylilies/iris/lilies????

yes i think it better to trade than educate them at the price it is now for one two will make you out selling apples on corner for extra job

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

With luck, they will get stupid and decide to make Walmart their life. Then I will take the college funds and take a trip to Egypt and have plenty left over to outbid you at the lily Auction! LOL

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

70f??? Not fair! We might actually get snowed on this weekend instead of the neverending rain. How about we trade weather after you get all of your bulbs dug in. Call me fussy, but I hate digging in the mud.

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

I wouldn't mind some snow! We have just a skiff of snow, wondering how bulbs and other plants will come thru?

Supposed to either rain or sleet today and I have a Dr.'s appt in Eau Claire. Oh well.

Just not fair that you people can keep buying when my ground is froze so deep. Don't think a pick ax would do the trick.

Mooresville, NC(Zone 7a)

Digging? Who's digging? Just wiggle your auger, baby!

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

I doubt very much if your auger bit would dig thru the frozen ground!!!
All you would get for your labor would be a broken auger bit.

Maxine

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

I have not ever wiggled my auger , But hay i wear purple why not ? ROFL

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Tazzy, you can wiggle anything you have left to wiggle! I dug today at 60 degrees---it's thawed down about 6 inches & solid ice after that. I'm just thankful to have a day without that heavy old winter coat!

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Good I like to wiggle my ??
" I don't know why ? "

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

All these years and you haven't figured it out yet???

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

No I'm learning disabled.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

It's not that. I think you just like to "wiggle" and pretend you're innocent. Fess up! :)

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

I fees up , I like to wiggle my giggle
( hanging head In shame ) wiggle, wiggle. giggle, giggle Moi act Innocent contrere . I am Innocent ,my cat did it and makes me take the blame

Hanging head in shame >NOT

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Tazzy, Tazzy, Tazzy.....

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

I ordered more too.... couldn't resist huge yellow callas at such great prices. ($2 for 2+ inch bulbs)

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I must have missed those, Emily. Darn! Which site were they on?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Enter at your own risk! http://www.daylily.com/cgi-bin/auction.cgi

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Last time I checked there I didn't see any Callas and I still don't see any Callas. Am I blind? LOL! I have had my eye on those First Lady Asiatics though, gonna have to get some of those before the ground gets too frozen!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Just bought up all the First Lady Asiatics! DH is not going to be happy with me!

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

Regarding the yellow Callas, they're on this site: http://207.234.149.60/catalog.asp?catid=155 Looks like she has some pinks as well.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Thanks Emily! Dang, I knew I was close, but couldn't think of that other auction place.... (avoiding that one like the plague too)

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

But the bulbs are so huge! So much larger than I would ever get at any local nuseries and cheaper too (that's what I keep telling myself). This is what my kitchen counter looks like: http://www.q7.com/~erasmus/images/house_dec_04/calla_monstrosity.JPG That's 5 of the 7 bunches I have growing inside. Tallest leaf is now 40". I can't believe how much they have grown with how short our days are up here. It's pitch black outside by 4:30pm and they're all in north-facing windows.

I wish Buggycrazy had more colors available. Anyone know of any good sites for buying colored callas at a reasonable price?

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Sorry....wrong thread! duh

Thanks Emily. I had asked her, but she said she didn't have them listed yet. I wonder why? Oh well, guess I'll be hearing from her again now that I bought 5 of the yellows! I want pink, but I want a darker pink than what she has listed. I want, I want, I want......

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Emily, here is a site for ya.

http://www.bloomingbulb.com/XQ/ASP/Category.6/QX/CartBulbs.htm

Prices aren't near as good as Buggycrazy's, but I'll split some with ya if you want to. She also said she was going to list hers in a few days...I'm not sure what other colors she has.

Mooresville, NC(Zone 7a)

Tazzy - did you buy the year-end mixed lily specials? I bought her 10 mixed orientals for $12 and 12 mixed asiatics for $10. They just arrived and I practically fell over. I got four boxes of a total of 55 bulbs, the biggest of which are the size of small grapefruits! Now I have to go out and plant them. Thank goodness for our warm spell!

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Heather - were they all named/labelled???? Golly! She must not want to store or dig them herself. LOL

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Yikes, that's a lot of bulbs. My math may be a little rusty, but you ordered 22 and got 55? Lucky you!

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Yup got special and two others something weird can not remember what ?Oh ! black Ginger
