I didn't measure the height on Red Hot but I'd guess it's around 4' tall.

Rio Negro in the pouring rain last Saturday. Where is the rain when we really could use it?

San Souci, from Buggy Crazy (Lisa), is so beautiful and so fragrant. For the first year here it has produced more flowers than can be believed.

Here it is as it opened further.

Only a few more to go like Casa Blanca, which really is opened now but it's just too hot to take photos, Dizzy and one more.

What camera are you using Pirl. ?
The images are so crisp. The lilies are fantastic.

Opened overnight. Its not what I ordered.
The same problem this spring with Lindas from the same company. They turned out to be Loretos.
These bulbs were supposed to be a short version of Acapulco an all pink.
This NOID is what bloomed last night.
Anyone want to guess? The edges of the petals are pale pink.

Thanks for the compliments, TP and Jack. The photos with the raindrops were my favorites.

I don't know the ID on any of the lilies posted, ge and doridunn.

It's not the camera, ge, it's knowing how to use it. Many people don't study the manual and don't practice. Just take 20 photos of the same flower with different aperture settings, different lighting, and different times of the day and you'll see which ones you like best.

Reminds me of a friend who complimented a photo I took with a free camera (but she didn't know it). She said that I took good photos because I had two Nikon cameras. I asked her how she'd feel if she cooked a great dinner and I asked her what brand of pots she used.

The camera is just a Fuji E550, 6 years old and I have no intention of replacing it.

While I loved this Babyface phlox for the Bonbini we just didn't get much color on the Bonbini this year so the photo is not what I wanted.

Pirl, wonderful lilies & love your pictures of them. Please keep the pictures coming. Very hot here, hard to work in the garden. But, I have to weed.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

This Acapulco was purchased from a different vendor.
Some difference.

Thanks, Debbie. Too hot here as well.

Ge, great photos. It shouldn't happen that the same label for the same bulb is totally different.

Great photos everyone. Here is "MONA LISA" ( not shouting just highlighting :-)

good discussion about the camera. Plus I bend my head in shame as I have not ever studied my camera. I like the pics I take but if I really knew what my canon can do, I would probably be even more pleased.

P, the pics of lilies in the rain are fabulous.

we had a nice rain last night, but I can't even make myself go out this morning as it's gonna be just like a sauna.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Mona Lisa is always lovely. She's another one that is so photogenic.

Thank you, Nery. We have the heat and humidity here as well, as does most of the nation. It just doesn't give me the urge to go out to take photos.

Maybe, while you're stuck indoors, you'd rather spend ten minutes just checking out one feature of your camera than removing wallpaper in a bathroom or painting!!!

I just have a little Nikon Coolpix. No desire to learn ALL of its functions and have no need to figure out the 'video' or 'scenes', etc., as my interest is taking still photos. So I learned how to do just that ~ the macro, flash settings, zoom, focus and such.

And the one thing that many people forget, myself included, is to clean your dang lens on a regular basis! LOL

Now sit, squat or lay down and compose the picture that you want to see...

Gorgeous pic of flower, Moby.
What is it?

Have a new camera -digital- for over a month and haven't taken the time to learn all the bells and whistles!
Will let granddaughter walk me thru it when one of them comes visiting.

It's Bergenia, or pig squeak.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I use "scene" for the wide views od the gardens.Love it.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Great photo, Moby. Love the detail. Aperture and macro rule most of my photos.

No need for sports settings, portrait or mountain scenery - Long Island is seriously devoid of any mountains! I do know it's used for scenery as well as mountains but macro is fun with flowers.

The setting I'd like most to have is "20 years younger" but can't find it on any camera.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Dang it, I didn't get that option either!

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Me neither!

What is wrong with these camera manufacturers?!!!!!!

Garner, NC(Zone 7b)

LOL! We're all looking for that 'button of youth'!!

Opened yesterday, but it's too wet to find the tag;) Yes! we finally had some rain (monsoon).

Surely I'll wade in when it dries out...

Everyone, your lilies are so beautiful. I just love going up and down this thread, and enjoying the variety of images. I have a relatively narrow span of lilies, although I am adding to my types with LO's and LA's, mostly inspired by what I've seen here.

Thank you!
