Nice dark Asiatics, Moby; and of course I recognize those buggy lilies, jmorth. I'm afraid you all will have to put up with my buds a while longer. Plum Peach...

Andrew, I'd forgotten to answer your question- I'm living on a cattle farm of almost 400 acres. The owners bought this place (that adjoins the rest of the farm) about 5 years ago for the 18 acres of pasture and barn that came with it. We have access to about 5 acres for our own use- maybe a little more now; last year a leach field had to be installed for the septic system which prohibits the use of heavy farm machinery on it (I sowed it in wildflowers and Poppies, LOL).

Love your Twinkles, bon.

Wow you guys, great lilies!!! :) I've got several that are popping, but as with my peonies, it's raining... Oh well, I get to look at all of yours!!

Neal, I love that Neon Gold. It's on my must have list for fall. :)

I really like seeing people post their lily blooms. Every lily blooms a bit different depending on climate, soil, etc. It's always good to see how it does in your area. :) That way I can see if I want to try it in my area. :) LOL

Moby, the landini is awesome. I'm glad I got some at this year's B&B summer sale. I'm not big on asiatics, but I had to give this one a try.

also adore neon gold, jmorth.

Neal, your latest pics on thread #4 were fabulous. I am so enamored of blue spruces but they don't grow in my area. Only a few conifers like our humidity. So, I'm a little envious. Seems ridiculous for me to complain about heat as I live in it. but what is particularly disturbing this year is that we had a looooong spring (that is good) but then it just went from 80 to 98 almost overnight and steady. We had no easying into our hellacious summers. The tropicals are loving it and taking center stage, but the lilies have sort of shyed (sp?) away.

This was making me sad because you all were posting such great pics and I had nothing to show. Well, I have a few this morning. This is the white Stargazer growing thru rosa Souv. de la Malmaison.

Your Landini is ahead of mine Moby. Wouldn't Neon Gold look great next to it? Welcome Bonitin. Your 'Salmon Twinkle' is such a delicate little beauty. What's your last one in the big clump Neal? Love it too. Here's my first ever bloom on Purple Reign. Very upfacing.

Latvia has clumped up fast. I started with 3 bulbs, 3 years ago.

ok, a little bit more whining about the heat. I am looking out DH's office window and notice my big dog Kramer sitting in full sun. I'm wondering why he's not seeking shady shelter and then I noticed an oscillating sprinkler which must be misting him. That doggie ain't no dummy!

You can barely see the sprinkler on the bottom right corner of pic.

I'm with Ticker, I enjoy seeing all of the different kinds of climate and how the lily color shines through. You all have fine taste, but I have come to expect nothing less.

Neon Gold is going on my ever growing list. Better save up for those fall bulb orders from buggycrazy.

Landini looks super great too. I have that from Brent and Beckys this spring.

Raining heavy today so I can't even go outside and see if anything new opened up today.

Oh! Such mouth watering blooms. 'Sydney' and 'Eurydice' are particularly special.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh yes, lovely!!
I have to agree with Mags choice's (Sydney is my Great Niece and whats not to like about "E") but I also REALLY like 'Marribelle'. Is that from Lily Nook?

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

"particularly special" Tracey I think you say that for all lilies ^_^

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

We all have our favorites and how many ways can you say "I love it", "it's amazing" and "wonderful". I run out of great comments, you know. It is lily season. And with me loving so many, you know, "particularly special" ones, what else can I say. I've even admitted "jealousy" here on DG, even when I tell my children that "jealousy" is not a good, positive feeling. Lol.

With so many lilies left to go, I may have to resort to a thesaurus...stay tuned...Lol!

So....did you buy that farm or not?? Inquiring minds want to know. I'll be moving all my seedlings to your new place for testing, as long as you figure out how to keep the deer away from them ^_^

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Put in a bid. They have until midnight Fri. to respond.
They are selling because they switched cities for work and now have to drive 40+ miles one way. So I have been told. They haven't dropped the price in 4 months, so I don't know how desperate they are to sell. I am prepared to walk away If they wont sell for at most what they payed for it last year.
