The pot comes indoors in winter, but the in-ground one was protected in winter only by leaves. So far it has survived 9 consecutive nights of freeze, with a low of 26F. The tall tips were frosted, but the main part is fine.
As of Oct. 2021 I now have 3 of these growing in the ground, as well as 3 in pots. They are very easy to grow and propagate fast from cuttings. They grow slowly though -- the one that has been in the ground for 7 years is only 6 inches tall and 7 inches diameter, with multiple stems. It gets water once a month in spring and fall, upping that to every 2 weeks in the height summer, and dropping to none in winter. I have never fertilized it.
