I love my Frangipani/Plumeria/Hawaiian Lei, whatever you want to call it. I bought mine at Home Depot several years back and planted it ...Read Morein my front yard. It was green and leafy and bloomed for a brief period that first year. I was horrified in the winter when every leaf turned brown and fell to the ground. I was sure I had murdered it somehow. But I discovered that unlike most other plants in Florida, it goes through a period of "hibernation". Early the next year, the leaf buds started appearing and I was ecstatic. When the flowers bloom, the scent is intoxicatingly heady. A breeze will send the perfume across the yard and it is spectacular. The flowers are white with yellow throats and are delicate and gorgeous. Last year it had a bad case of "rust" and I thought I would lose the tree, but it just shed all of its leaves and now this spring it is leafing out again, and starting to put out flowers. I recommend this tree for the excitement of renewal that it brings to spring!
