Susceptible to blossom end rot, cured by my pulling the blossom off all female stems. Also picked up some gray mold; sprayed the leaves and cut off the worst ones. Definitely try to water from beneath (drip irrigation). Note: birds (finches, in all likelihood) love to eat little pieces of the bigger leaves; it is NOT caterpillars (in my case). Will plant again next year, in a larger space. One plant goes a long way! ZIP Code 92106 is in Zone 10 -- coastal foggy area in southern California. Average humidity 85%.
