Gregory’s Company made this squash famous back in the 1840’s." The Green Hubbard has been one of my favorites when I lived in a cooler climate. It is susceptible to squash vine borers, but if the whole bed has rich soil, it will put down a root at each leaf node and keep on trucking. I have gotten nice squash from vines that were no longer attached to the original stem. Very hard shell, I used a machete and hammer to open them, but they will keep for a long time.
