It eventually forms very tights mats that cover all of the soil up to the stem of plants. Vinegar removes it temporarily. I hand removed it from one bed - a huge job- but it quickly re-turned. It loves drought as well as moisture. .It is awful! I don't know what to do about it. Will try mulch, but think it is unconquerable.
