It took them a while to get going and establish, about 3 years. I planted them in the Summer of 02 and by the summer of 06 they have finally grown to 12 ft. Once established 1.5-2' of growth has been common for me. Id imagine the slow establishment was due in part to the soil conditions of my hard packed post construction clay by heavy machinery. I have seen this plant used in some unique allees. One is on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Campus. This tree is great towards street tree applications. The bright fine textured green is nice to see in the summer. The golden fall color is great as well. It has very few disease or cultural problems that can affect it.
Zone 5a; just planted this tree today. So excited for the next year to see what all it does!
