It prefers to be at cooler higher mountain altitudes, such as in the Blue ridge mountains here in NC and zone 5 or above in the rest of the U.S. I've had to replace mine twice here in Central NC from being burnt to a crisp from the heat and humidity. Again though, very tall thin beautiful and almost wild like variety, just not very hardy and heat tolerant.

This is useful too if Eva is too tall for the spot you want her in.She self sows. Toss seed heads wherever you want more plants. This phlox (paniculata) is deer and rabbit resistant for me.(Unlike phlox maculata which they find delicious.) Gets some powdery mildew, but rarely is it severe.

General Information:
