This variety does we...Read Morell in sun or shade but can get browned from winter sun if it is too intense (like if planted along a south-facing wall and there is glare from snow, for example). Mine do better in part sun / part shade and even grow well on the cooler north side of my house, where they have never shown any winter damage.

For past year I've grown it in full sun and it's adapted well. In winter it gets some pink coloring to the lovely white/green variegated leaves, but holds leaves well. Nice for cutting to add to arrangements (main reason it's still about 5 feet tall x 18 inches). Never any pests or disease. josh z8a
