Because we are having a run of hot weather in London, I was ...Read Morewatering the garden wearing sandals last Sunday evening and, without realising it, water which had been in contact with this plant got into my sandals, under my feet. By the next morning, the soles of my feet were so uncomfortable, with a visible allergy rash, that I had to go to the doctor. She gave me a strong steroid cream to apply twice daily until it went. Even so, on Tuesday my feet were so painful, I could hardly walk! Fortunately, the rash and pain began to disappear thereafter and they have now recovered. So one really does have to take care with this plant - we have now removed it from our garden as I don't want to risk our grandchildren or visitors having the same thing happen to them!
Planted 4 years ago on south wall in NE UK.
Now 4m high and still going up. Went through -12C with minimal damage.
