It could also compete very easily as the blackest of the roses, as the tips of the petals on mine look nearly black (see the pictures for yourself...they are 100% unedited), and it also has what looks like black/blue brush strokes over the top surface of the dark red petals. It has some of the most beautiful & perfect blooms I've seen, plus it can have long stems. Around September 3rd it began to open to the most gorgeous bloom in my collection. All of the blooms until now had been much smaller, when one cane suddenly doubled in height (all the other canes are still half the height) and began to flower with my ultimate rose. As this rose is in its first year, I am hoping that this is an example of what it will show more of next year, as it fully develops.
