The appealing white stems have a creamy yellow heart with a subtle onion flavor. They are superb eaten fresh, grilled, sauteed, and added to soups or stews. With a long crop time of 120 days (to get the largest stems), this is a great vegetable to start indoors early in spring when you are anxious to get back to gardening. Leeks are cold tolerant and can be left in the garden into fall for an extended harvest.
This variety does well as an overwinter crop in this part of Georgia.
Very tolerant of poor conditions. Produced a nice flavored, tall leek, but not too thick.
