Common Cosmos, Mexican Aster 'Psycho'

The plant blooms on the late side, but is more resitant to rots than the species. The flowers are large, pure white, and semi-doubled. One unusual attribute to this Cosmo, is that as the plant ages the "ruff" (the semi-doubleness) around the center of the flower dissapears!

A lovely, easy to grow flower, somewhat larger (and to me more attractive) than the singles. The seeds I received were labeled "Psyche W...Read Morehite". Not to start an argument over the name, but it seems to me that Psyche (who was a beautiful maiden in Greek mythology, beloved by Eros-or Cupid in Roman mythology) would be more appropriate than Psycho, although I found many references using both names. Interestingly, there is another entry in the PF for "Psyche Mix" Cosmos.
