These plants are very shade tolerant though they have best color with some sun. They are frost tender, but can be brought indoors/into a greenhouse to overwinter.
Unfortunately, at least here in the Pacific Northwest, slugs love them so provide slug protection or at least step up the patrol when planting new plants.
