Onions bother my eyes more than most people's; my eyes not only water, but burn so bad that I can't open them for several minutes. These had a minimal reaction.

"This is an Heirloom variety, brought to Walla Walla, Was...Read Morehington from Corsica at the turn of the 20th century. A large (4-5") sweet Spanish onion with light brown skin and mild, white flesh. Long day type. Not a storage onion. Needs 1 inch of water per week to develop a sizable bulb.
In mild climates, best suited for sowing in late summer for harvest in early summer of the following year. In short-season areas, start indoors late February to early March. Transplant 10 weeks later into row 6-8 inches apart.
Soil temp for germ = 50-85 degress F, days to germ = 4-13, plant spacing = 5-7", days to maruity = 100-110, full sun and a lot of water."
