The pot is in a...Read Morefternoon sun in the summer, with light shade in the morning. It spends the winter in a pop-up greenhouse with a lamp for heat in the coldest part. Also in the pot is a Dioscorea elephantipes. The pot gets whatever rain occurs during the summer, although I occasionally move it under shelter during large monsoon downpours of August or September. I water it just prior to moving it into the greenhouse and again when I move it out in March and usually once or twice during the May-July heat. It grows slowly and growth has been set back twice, when it was pulled out by its roots by curved bill thrashers.
