Does not particularly like hot sun/ dry soil areas. Perhaps better as a potted plant. Clumps don't get as crowded as violacea. Flowers are indeed sweetly fragrant. I've had both the alba forms & regular lilac colors. Alba is a bit weaker. Crosses between the two give intermediate shades.
