It is in filtered-shade most of the day until mid-afternoon, then direct sunlight until sunset. This year that corner of my patio became a bit of a catch all until mid-June when I finally had time to get things organized. Imagine my surprise when I moved my bags of mulch and found these blossoms on my Hens N Chicks! They are on a stalk about 4-5 inches tall, branching out from the top of the stalk and each about the size of an American dime. I can't sense a discernible fragrance - I've checked at different times of the day. I'm really tickled that they are doing so well in my dry, clayish soil. They are spreading well, too. Definitely a fun plant to make room for.
