Impatiens, Congo Cockatoo, Parrot Plant, African Queen 'Queen Congo'

Hi, I received just a small plant growing in a pot from a friend of mine, this was about 2 months ago.
Since then I have fertilise...Read Mored twice. It grows in a small pot, standing on my veranda wall, near the front door. It has two beautiful, orange and yellow coloured flowers on at the moment. Lots of new leaves and down the stem it is started to shoot out new leaves all the way down. at the moment it is
standing roughly 11cms or 4 and a half inches, high growing in only Potting Soil.
I water it everyday, little at a time, it is mostly in shade with just a bit of sunshine during the day.
This Parrot Plant is growing lovely big leaves, and flowers are 2.5cm in lenght being almost 2 cms across in the width.

The plant does ok in a warmer/bright place by my kitchen light in the wi...Read Morenter months, but it seems to yellow and wilt next to the window due to the cold and extreme light from both the sun and snow. In the summer the plant does just terrific by the window! It doesn't seem to mind that the air is thin up here.

I bought this plant at Antonelli's Begonia Gardens last fall because it was an unusual plant that I haven't see and I really liked it. On...Read Moree of the things I discovered was that snails also liked it.

Other stems are now shooting out.
