It grows quite slow at least in my experience. There is at least one big one at the Phoenix Botanical Garden. It does have the peeling bark, as does mine. It peels off in white sheets thereby exposing green colored trunk (for aiding photosynthesis I suspect).

Makes a great natural bonsai and does well in pots. Very drought tolerant. Looks a lot like Buseras but doesn't tend to have papery bark on trunks and leaves are not scented like are most Buseras.
Curious to know if anyone has any experience rooting this plant from cuttings. Thanks!
Delightful caudex forming tree in pot culture. With free root run it will grow into a thick-stemmed but less appealing plant.
