Have several growing around the garden- definitely not a great aloe for full, hot blazing sun in low water situations. I have a couple in that situation, and though still alive, look very unhappy. However, in shadier situations, this is a great outdoor plant in southern California (just sort of dinky for the average landscape). I planted mine at the base of larger, caudiciform succulents, so I could always find them. The flower reliably and grow very slowly... but no problems.
