THe shape is a ...Read Moreslight curve to the upright, but the leaf shape itself looks a bit like the common Aloe vera (A barbadensis) only the teeth are relatively large. Also, unlike the case with most aloes, where the teeth seem like they are added as an afterthought, these teeth seem like an intricate part of the leaf, almost as though the leaves were cut with a pinking shears- large green teeth, same color as the leaves. Red flowers come up in February here in Southern California. After blooming one sees only a long stalk covered with little bulbils, or plantlets, which I am guessing the plant got its name for.
