It's in a 5 gallo...Read Moren nursery pot, kept against a south facing wall under a narrow overhang. It gets direct sun for at least 6 hours a day. No other protection from cold is given. The vine dies back each year but the caudex has been completely unharmed.

Stems tend to be vining and have somewhat glaucous leaves that are larger near the base of the stem and smaller near the tips. Flowers are thin and yellow in spring. I have had several of these plants and rotted most of them eventually having kept them under shade cloth in the winter- they do NOT like a lot of water when they have no leaves.
