This has been the standard fall cabbage for as long as I can remember. It is a drumhead type, with large flatheads averaging about 10 lbs...Read More. It stores well. We used to dig a trench in the side of a hill, line it with pine straw, put in the cabbages, cover with pine straw and a foot and a half of dirt. In January we could dig them out as needed. This cultivar is still widely available and excellent for cooking. It is not as good for raw uses as the ballhead types.
