It reseeds so once you have it you do not have to buy more. However, it does not take off until it gets consistently hot weather, so if you live in a cold zone like mine I recommend either starting some indoors or buying plants otherwise depending on the weather you don't see anything much until mid august.

The flowers open white then turn pale pink, and finally turn an intense deep pink, so there are different colors all over the same plant. It is very tropical looking with very large leaves, but tries to take over the bed by underground shoots - these are easy to remove, however.
