The spring bloom around the last week of April is a good true pink but it is the fragrance that sells this plant. It is spicy and heavy and pervades my yard. Can't get enough of it. No pests, no problems.

Dirr says this is hardy to Z4. He also offers a rare judgement: that as an ornamental, this species is superior to R. periclymenoides and R. canescens.
