She said her plant did not bloom until she moved into the home it is in now so I am assuming it is the low light combined with a average indoor temp. of 65°. I live in a very hot climate and am keeping mine with little light and away from the air conditioning. So far it is healthy but growing very slow. I am also told by my stepmother that this plant has to bunch up its roots to produce more saplings, much like an aloe vera does.

It is trained around a hoop and seems to be very happy going round and round in a sunlight position in the conservatory, but not in direct sunlight as we find this makes the leaves go pale green. I have also been very successful in achieving many cuttings by putting them in rooting powder and placing them in a plant pot with a plastic bag covering it until it is rooted.

i SET THE POT OUTSIDE EVERY SUMMER AND IT BLOOMS WELL THRU SPRING AND INTO SUMMER. i KEEP IT IN PARTIAL SHADE. FULL SUN SCALDS THE LEAVES. iT IS QUITE VINEY WHICH CAUSES A FEW TANGLES. i TRIM IT BACK AFTER SPRING BLOOMING, WHICH KEEPS THE SIZE MANAGABLE. i HAVE STARTED ANOTHER PLANT FROM A CUTTING AND IT ALSO GROWS WELL.
